Barbara J. Jackson
Barb Jackson is director of the Burns School of Real Estate and Construction Management at the University of Denver. She earned bachelor, master’s, and PhD degrees in construction management and education from Colorado State University. She previously was a professor of construction management at California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo, CA, and director of the Center for Integrated Project Leadership for the Built Environment. Over her distinguished 35-year career, she has developed an integrated model of the entire life cycle of the built environment. She is a recognized leader in design-build, interdisciplinary collaboration, and cultural transformation. In 2018, she was made a Fellow of the Design-Build Institute of America and was honored with DBIA’s highest honor, the prestigious Brunelleschi Lifetime Achievement Award. In 2019, she founded Women Building Change Inc., which is dedicated to advancing women in construction and related fields into leadership roles. Sought after as a speaker, she also is an author of books on construction management and design-build.
