Bill T. Dutra
Bill T. Dutra is executive chairman of The Dutra Group and one of the premier dredgers in the U.S. He earned a bachelor’s degree in technology from Oregon State University. He established the Dutra Group in 1972 and was the first to use hydraulic excavation equipment in North American dredging. He used his expertise in underwater blasting excavation on Boston’s Big Dig. He is well known for his other works on such projects as the Salton Sea Restoration, the Jones Tract levee failure, and upgrading the levee system of the State of California.
Bill is active in the Beavers and is a recipient of its Golden Beaver Award. He also is active in The Moles, is a long-standing member of the Society of Military Engineers, and received the Outstanding Member Award from the San Francisco Bay Planning Coalition. Bill is proud of his three daughters. Each is directly involved in the construction industry.
