Bernita Beikmann
Bernita Beikmann is executive vice president and chief process officer for HKS Inc. in Dallas, TX. She holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Kansas State University. Bernita is a lean design expert and a transformative advocate for integrated lean project delivery, particularly on health projects and children’s hospitals. An author and highly sought after speaker both nationally and internationally, she has developed architectural protocols resulting in projects with no RFIs and no owner change orders. Her projects are known for accelerated design times, decreased delivery cost, and increased owner satisfaction. She leads teams through the development of new mindsets, methods, and capabilities. She has a unique ability to help accomplished design professionals discover new ways of working that produce extraordinary results. A Fellow of the American Institute of Architects and a Registered Architect (Texas), Bernita is a past chair of the Lean Construction Institute. In 2015, LCI recognized her with its Chairman’s Award, its premier annual recognition for an individual who has served the institute with extraordinary distinction and transformed design and construction through lean tools and techniques.
