Anna Franz
During her 30 year federal career, Anna Franz FAIA served in executive leadership roles as Director, Planning and Project Management, Architect of the Capitol and Chief, Space and Facilities Division, Administrative Office of the U.S.Courts, and held other positions at the National Institutes of Health, Smithsonian Institution, Department of Justice and Department of the Navy. She has a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Florida State University, a master’s in nursing from Texas Woman’s University, a master’s in architecture, historic preservation, from The University of Texas at Austin, and a PhD in engineering management from The George Washington University.
Anna is well recognized in the architecture, engineering, and construction industries and has served in leadership roles in the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of the federal government. She currently leads a $2 billion annual program involving construction of court houses around the U.S. Her prior accomplishments include award-winning projects such as the Capitol Dome Restoration, which she led, serving as chair of the Construction Industry Institute, and being elected as a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects.
Anna also is the author of more than 20 publications in professional journals and magazines, and is widely sought as a speaker on key issues facing government agencies. She is a Registered Architect, a LEED Accredited Professional, a registered nurse, and served on the President’s Advisory Council on Historic Preservation as well as on the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
