R. Ilker Adiguzel
Ilker Adiguzel is director of the Environmental Laboratory of the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center in Vicksburg, MS. He received his PhD degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). Ilker was selected to the Senior Executive Service in 2006 and served as director of the Construction Engineering Research Laboratory (CERL) in Champaign, IL, from 2006-2017. Previously, he was a visiting assistant professor at UIUC.
He is a founding associate editor and member of the editorial board for the American Society for Civil Engineers (ASCE) Journal of Infrastructure Systems. He has served as a member of the ASCE Construction Research Council, the Construction Industry Institute (CII) Strategic Planning Committee, the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME), and the International Council for Research and Innovation in Building and Construction.
His honors include Department of the Army Meritorious Service Medal; Federal Laboratory Consortium Laboratory Director of the Year; the SAME Technology Advancement Medal; U.S. Green Building Council Public Sector Leadership Award; University of Illinois Distinguished Alumnus Award; the Army Engineer Association Bronze Order of the de Fleury Medal; and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sustainability Hero Award.
